I got my first hands-on experience with the Xbox One and PS4 earlier when I went to Best Buy for the first time in basically forever; naturally, I looked for demos of racing games as soon as I got my hands on the controller of each console.
I raced with the Fiesta ST in Forza ; I won the race, and I liked the way that the FiST drove. I noticed that its color palette doesn’t really match the real FiST - it uses a burnt orange, the ugly pre-refresh green, and the regular Fiesta’s Blue Candy in place of Molten Orange, Green Envy and Performance Blue.
In Driveclub , I raced with the stupid-fast F12berlinetta. The braking wasn’t up to par, but I think that’s because I wasn’t really giving the race my full attention. I ended up in last place; I probably should have rammed other cars and found ramps to jump on, as per the advice of the random 4-year-old who assumed the role of co-driver. I definitely preferred Driveclub ’s graphics.
Generally speaking, I’m not really a fan of using the cockpit view for a race; my racing in both games was total shit until I switched to the outside view of the whole car and its surroundings.
Playing the Driveclub demo has made me want a PS4 even more than I already did; I suspect that when I play the 360 demo of Forza Horizon 2 in a bit, I’ll feel much the same way about the Xbone even though I’ve been holding out for a slim version of that console.

I'm surprised Driveclub defaulted to the in-car view being as arcadey as it is. Most games like that are third-person not only by default but often as the only option.

I'm an FH2 fanboy. 100%. I've had the Playstations, but I keep going back to the Xbox.

Once you go One, you don't go back. The XBone has its own weird flaws, like forcing the Windows 8 interface down your throat, but I've really enjoyed it once I got past the initial update. Hint: It's in auto-shutoff mode so you better have high-speed internet for that download.
Forza 5 is good, but I'd give Horizon 2 a slight edge. My guess is that they programmed the Fiesta ST long before it was released so the colors are either a little off or a little old. Forza 5 plays nicely but the car/track selection is a little lacking, though.
I was a pretty hardcore Gran Turismo fanboy until The Real Driving Simulator turned into The Ultimate Kazunori Yamauchi Simulator. I've still got a soft spot for it, but I've found myself caring less and less about the PS4.

After I got my PS3, my 360 became the console that I played Forza on while the PS3 played everything else, but I still like both consoles. I just want to wait for an Xbone Slim to be released so that I can decide if any hardware tradeoffs it makes are worth it compared to the larger original, but I probably will buy the current one if a slim version isn't announced at this year's E3.
I agree about caring less about Gran Turismo franchise at this point - I'm hoping that GT7 will be amazing.

I think the NFS games are the ones that usually omit interior views - DiRT 3 , Midnight Club: Los Angeles , and Forza Horizon all have them.
